    Default Dear Abby

This is why men's letters aren't published in the advice column.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

    Doesn't work, see?

It's a problem with the forum that no-one has seen fit to fix yet

Edit: Well, roger me with a barge pole, someone fixed it. Felder, use UPPER case, you fool

But I didn't use any case. I clicked on the picture.

Once that failed, I typed : D and it came out : d. Then I clicked on that other smiley, and it came out : u. Then I gave up.

    One last try.......

    Tah-dah! It worked!

Edit: Nope, problem is still there. Only affects it when the smiley is the first thing in the post.

Edit Edit: but if you go back in and edit it and change to upper case, it works. Dontcha love 'puters?

    , try this:

Type a colon and an upper case D in a quick reply window - just that and nothing else. Then click Go Advanced. It changes it to lower case. Does the same if you type it in a quick reply window and click Post Quick Reply. If you go back and edit your post to upper case D it saves it correctly. Problem has been there for a long time.

    :d

It keeps changing it to a lower case "D".
