Default Roof Respray Bulding Paint on some ridge line sections

    Hi

I had a concrete tile roof resprayed and overall it seems a good job, it is maybe 5 months old. However it was sprayed right at the end of the of the good weather and probably 2 days after it was sprayed there was alot of rain.

I wonder if the paint cured properly. I went with what many consider the best NXT Cool Zone Paint by Nutech. All the usual prep was carried out. A contractor did this job not myself.

Here is a picture of a ridgeline that looks fine

but here is some bulging sections

In some areas you can lightly push on the bulges with your finger and water seeps out.

So it seems that there was moisture intrusion due to high rainfall prior to the paint properly curing.

    What is the fix?

    A)
Drill weep holes at the bottom of each bulge section? let it slowly dry out over this summer, will the bulge go away ?

    B)
Cut out those sections, let dry and re point, let dry and then seal and top coat again?

Seen that lots of times and usually caused by lack of good prep/sealer.
Get the contractor back to fix it.

I only ever had one tile roof cleaned and painted and the amount of water that entered the ceiling area due to pressure cleaning was unbelievable.
Also the roof in question has lots of sections like your roof and after some years these sections have fallen away to expose the old colour.
Where I live now, the home across the street was done some 5 years ago and is now a patchwork of maroon roof and (original) blue patches.

Get the contractor back. There’s no weep holes. Either the contractor covered them up (his fault) or there’s none there (person who repointed fault). Either way you aren’t covered by insurance if your roof leaks anywhere.
