whats good lead test kits?

got some old paint i want to work out if it is lead or not, whats good test kit? looking online there a few around, a 2 pack for like $40 and you can get ear bud things packs of around 50 for $20, dont know what way to go if they are all good or not?

Which century was that can of paint made? Lead hasn't been around in paint for years. If it's 50 years old, it might not be any good anyway. It may have dried in the pot.

I would think the old paint is probably on the walls ?

Could be tricky. A surface that hasn't been repainted since the '70s. Well, it probably has been. A number of times. Any lead might well be a couple of coats underneath what's currently on show.

yes its a building built in the 70's, there is paint on railings that has been painted over many times and may be original railings all around the place, the paint is flaking off in areas down to the bare metal, just want to know if any lower layers have lead in the paint before i go spending days and weeks sanding them all and end up poisoned.
