    Default Bit of a gloat

Had a call on Saturday from a gentleman with a winery in SA. He was asking about food and child safeness of some of our products, for use on a cot or play pen or similar. Almost all our products are food safe and child safe, so long as you don't drink them or eat them.

    Anyway..... He also said:
Ten years ago he made a 12 seater dining table and French Polished it with our Hard Shellac. This table has been in constant use ever since and he said it looks as brilliant today as it did when he originally finished it all those years ago. Don't have a name or photo unfortunately.

Have heard similar from a number of luthiers and commercial users of our Hard Shellac over the past 20 odd years. Never bothered gloating about it before but hey might as well just for the fun of it.

If the gentleman mentioned above, happens to be a member or reads this or if anyone knows of him. I'd love to get a photo.

    Cheers

If you are prepared to send some $$$$ my way, I will gladly start visiting a few wineries in the area, I am sure we will track that table done in a year or two.
I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

    That's a good testimonial!

I really like shellac and so hard shellac really appeals to me.

I like to make up my own shellac though. Have you ever thought about supplying as an additive? I've seen an additive somewhere else but not sure if that one was any good!

Well I’m a South Australian and I use your hard Shellac that I buy from my (your) home town of Geelong from Jim Carroll. But I build ukuleles. Wonderful product and so is your Aussie oil, I use it on the necks of the instruments.
So thank you for great products Neil!
    Cheers Cal

Nice looking uke Cal. Better than my blue Mahalo soprano.

Cheers and thanks for the nice comments.

I agree an excellent finish. I used it in the school I taught in for the last 10-15 yrs. I have never used a finish which was so versatile and forgiving, students always achieved good results. A wonderful product.
    Thanks Neil.
