    Unless the roof is intended to leak, no. Although it also seems to be missing lintels above the second-story windows, upon closer inspection.

    I noticed that too, but I think I've seen the same design detail previously in old houses. The lintel would only be one course of brick high and is replaced with a timber beam.

    Looks like he might have the barge mold up first as well
    ie the moulding bit that goes over the barge baord and the tiles
