Silver finish for Sax.

I have an old saxophone that I want to renovate and I was wondering if any one knew of a product that could apply a siver finish to brass. I haven't looked into getting it plated but I can guess it would be expensive.

I was planning on something better than silver coloured paint.
I remember seeing a US programme years ago where they had a product that was used to repair worn silver plate. It was about the same consistency as shoe polish and was rubbed on.

It seems a pity to go to a bit of trouble and fall short because of a few dollars?

If you can't afford plating, why not polish off all the plating and leave the original material polished and clear lacquered?

I have taken all the keys back to bare brass and used a clear lacquer but I'm not impressed by the look of the brass.
Since posting, I've found a product called Inca Silver Plating Solution which looks like it might do the job in conjunction with the lacquer.

Why don't you try silver plating it yourself?

After all it's not rocket science.

All you'd need is an ounce of silver ($20?) and a battery charger. plus some eloctrolyte
