Decent Dust Mask that does not fog glasses

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any experience based recommendations on a decent dust mask that does not fog up Glasses?

Don't want to tape up anything either.

Something that works that does not go over my glasses which is the culprit I think.

Go to a sporting goods store and buy a "Fog Stick" or what ever the local name is.
This is a high molecular weight detergent which is used to break droplet surface tension on binocs and rifle scopes.
Works like a hot damn for spectacles where I live, coming indoors from -30C to +20C in the winter.

Failing that, buy a small bottle of no-sting baby shampoo at the chemist's.
Apply with a soft cloth.

Just discovered the 3M 7200 Dust Mask as well.

The mask has the air outlet at the noise on the bottom so when you inhale out the air is drawn out downwards towards your chin.

I have both. The straps from the 3M are more durable (solid rubber/silicon vs stretchy elastic - I've replaced mine once), but the Eclipse is very compact and easier to wear as a result. You forget it is there. The filters on the 3M are large and intrusive by comparison.

So what you guys are saying is this dust mask when worn with glasses will not fog the glasses?

Both the Eclipse and the 3M do not fog glasses - I wear glasses for close work.

i haven’t used the Eclipse, but I do use the 3M 7200 on a regular basis. I also wear glasses. I find the mask quite comfortable and don’t notice the filters. I bought this mask because it comes in different sizes so I could achieve a good fit.

Just purchased the 3m 7500 and had it priced matched less 10%.

Not sure the difference between the 7200 and 7500.

I was about to pull the trigger on an RZ mask (RZ Reusable Air Filtration Masks 888.777.9422 – RZ Mask), and was thinking their F1 filter (0.1 micron, 99.9% effective) would be the right choice.

I do NOT know how it goes with glasses, whilst I wear them, I figured I had to get something, and this might be worth testing?

How do you go for replacement filters for the Elipse P100 Derek? Do you have to get them from Highland as well?

They may well be a very good mask, but I have to say that 99.9% of particles down to 0.1µm is a very big call. Nor do I understand what they mean by 99.9% replaceable Carbon filters.

For woodworking you can purchase the P100 3M Particulate Filter 7093 which is 99.7% effective in blocking out everything for the 3M 6000, 7000 series which includes the 7500.

A pack of 12 are around $70 Aus inc delivery from Amazon.

We breathe more bad air though when we walk or drive with so much fumes from vehicles.

I am happy with the 7500. It was only available in a Medium Size. Maybe a larger would of been a bit more comfy not sure. The M is a nice tight fit though
and its comfortable. Wore it today for a few hours no issue and did not fog my glasses due to the air ventilator facing down on the mask above the nose.
When I was buying it I bumped into a bloke and his work mate purchased the 7500 and complained about the water dripping out from the air outlet. I was not
worried about this and unless you are heavy breathing with your mouth wide open then it might be an issue and it would be the same with many other respirators.
Best practice is to breathe how we were born. That is by breathing in through your tummy not chest and breathe out from your nose.
