Did he live in Marino?

What an insult! The Badly's had one of the best lines of Kelpies around. I had one of there bitches by Casper. She could work anything from ducks to cattle, including pigs. Best dog I have ever owned. Came to Sydney to visit my parents one Christmas and someone threw her a bait. Got to love city folk.
Whoa, hang on a minute, Shaun Badly was real?
I presumed it was a play on words seeing the thread was about sheep, "shorn badly", hence ring in as opposed to ringer eg Jackie Howe, 321 sheep in under 8 hours.
No offence intended, just playing with words and an attempt at a little humour.
No offence taken. Yes, Shaun Badly was his real name. We always thought it amusing because he was one of the best shearers we knew.
Jackie Howe's 321 tally at Alice Downs Blackall was with hand shears and wasnt broken until machine shears came along. His weekly record was 1437 in 44.5 hours. As far as I am aware, that record still stands. His dad John was also a champion shearer. Jackie was an activist during the Shearers Strike and was mates with my grandfather who was also heavily involved. Jackie owned the Barcoo pub in Blackall and died at only 59.
None taken Peter. You were not to know. Mind you, if memory serves me correctly, one of the Badly dogs was called Bitzer or Bitzy. I'ts over thirty years ago and Im flat out remembering what I had for breakfast.
Well the sheep and farm puns have dropped off - I thought we were going to be drenched in them.
May be people are worried about being fleeced.
Nah, this mob is good for a few more.
I know a detective was tailing the sheep.
We had a Kiwi at work for a while. You've guessed it. His surname was Lamb. He said there were many very indiscreet comments flying around while he grew up :) .
I have been falling about over the computer desk with all your replies. Lucky you blokes don't charge for the jokes or I would have been fleeced.
Regards
Paul
