    Question Finishes over estapol tung oil

    I have a redgum table slab that has been sealed with 3 coats of wattyl estapol tung oil - a durable subdued gloss floor sealant.

    To finish it off I have planned to fine sand the estapol up to 1200 grit and use french polish. I've tried a small area on the bottom surface which hasn't shown any immediate problems.

    Does anyone know if there would be adhesion or other problems with this application?

    Mate. I'm not familiar with estapols Tung oil however, i have used tung oil (Cabots & Ruskins) under shellac (Normal practice) with great results...
