Wounded warrior
So I wanted to play basketball at least once a month this year. Well it is Sunday and I thought I should go and meet the target for the month.
5 minutes into the game. Some bozo missed the shot so I had to get up there and grab the damn ball. Got the ball and felt a pop in my right knee and another pop.
Ohhhhhh……
Saw the doctor right away and lucky nothing is broken. It could have been a lot worse. I will be on crutches for a while, no work, no shed time.Well at least I can chat with you lot all day long now. Could it be the end of my playing time? I hope not.
Oh dear lord what have I done to deserve this? Why does it always happen to good honest citizen? I am sure there are plenty of bastxxx out there God can punish but why me???
It is hurting so muchand I think I need a hug.

Wongo
Hope you get well soon.
Remember the Panadine fort(sp)
ps: You can hobble out to the wood work.
All you need to do is get the nail gun out and fix a board down the side of the leg so the knee does not bend.

Don't forget, there's always the sketch padYou could could brainstorm the next project
Now I'm no rocking horse expert.... by far! but when I was laid up with the reconstruction of my husbands childhood horse on my mind, I took out my sketch pad, and designed it some costumes, I'm no seemstress either, so mum is currently in the process of creating them. There is a knight's charger cape, and a circus outfit, and when I was bored with that, I started creating little accesories, out of model ply, cardboard, and papier mache, like a little water bag, and billy for a stackhorse outfit, and a troopers hat for a light horse outfit, a unicorns horn....... Now the kids can dress the horse up, to match their dress ups, which is great!
(When I finally get it finished)
get well soon, and stay saneRatbag
I know that you beleive that you understand what it is that you think that I said; But I am not sure that you realise that what you heard is not what I meant

Thanks guys.
After nearly 30 years playing ball, this is the first time I have hurt my knee. Busted both ankles and was on crutches for 3 months each time. My back is like 50 years old (just like WB’s). So this is something new to me.
Will try to see a specialist ASAP. I think I will be grounded for at least 6 months. The worst part of being injured is not the pain but the memory of the moment the joint cracks.
I not sure if I will play again but it is so hard to give up something I’ve done all my life. I still think I can give those youngsters a good run.It is probably just tough luck or I did not warm up probably. After all 35 is still nothing.

Tough stuff, Scott!
But belay all that negative stuff about giving it up. You're 35 and you're right - that's nothing!
So you're crocked for a while. Very frustrating but don't start thinking you can't play again or you never will. The mission is to keep as fit as possible while you're unable to play - so talk to a sports physio who can design a fitness regime for you. That'll help get you back to fitness more quickly and back on court again as soon as.
DAMHIK all this stuff!
Good luck!

Oh Brett it is called a rebound dude
Thanks driver for the advice, just send me an invoice sir.
Well I had a sleep-in, got up and said goodbye to the girls. Booked a time to see a specialist at 4:15. Cooked my some bacon and egg.
Yes it is very frustrated being disabled. Maybe it time for me to settle down and do some soul searching, to find the real me. Hey maybe I should do some meditation or do some of that ‘Far Lone Gone” stuffor is it “Fart Long Gone”?
