not by the hair of my chinny chin chin
Hmm
Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

With a beard like that, working with rotary power tools is just plain silly.

Looked liked it was in need of a trim anyhow.

I can not come up with any sympathy for the guy. We are not talking modern nanny state H&S here. There were basic safety rules on this a hundred years ago. He is lucky he still has a face. Been a roto carving disc on there would have been ugly.

The poor guy also seemed to have had his headphones caught at the same time.

That fellow is lucky that angle grinder didn't slit his throat and leave him bled out on the floor where he stood..... Or slice his lower jaw right off... Or cut his face in half and take out an eye and his nose...
Looks like he was able to turn it to cut the beard rather than his neck - which saved his life..... Still ended up with a painful yank.... I have seen MUCH worse.....
Moral of the story - Rocking an epic Grizzly Adams beard or beautiful flowing locks? Keep it in a net or figure out how to tie it back and keep it out of the way.... Take this seriously so your boss /welding buddy doesn't have to try to explain how you died to your wife and kids....

I can see that it's dark, up his nose. The light's not on.

Permission to use the images at work for a "safety share"?
Are they copyrighted?

I guess the guy did one right thing by putting it out there as an example what not to do so saving others from pain and suffering or worse. With that to his credit I'll now lighten up a bit on him. Sure he done a dumb thing to start with but by showing it he is doing some good.
