How long should it take

For a while now I have found that opening photos on the forum takes a long time. For example, a thumbnail of a 130kb photo takes about 15 seconds to open full size. With my download speed that would normally take a split second on other sites.
Is this normal or could there be something I have not got set right.

G'day Dallas - That seems a bit slow. Time of day and number of people on line may have an affect on download speed of photos, pdf's, etc, but they should load a little faster than that.

I'll ask Steven to have a look into it and see if there's a problem. Other problems with speed have been dogging us over the last few days since a restart of the server last week so maybe it's tied in with that, but I doubt it.

Thanks Neil. I'm aware of the fun you have been having over the past week but it is not related to that as the slowness was there well before then. It is almost as though it coincided with the change to the new server, but I can't be certain on that.

The pictures are hosted on another cloud server so they won't have been effected by the switch to the new server.

Try logging in from this link https://www.woodworkforums.com it might make a difference especially if you have been logging in from a bookmarked link since before the switch to the new server.

Might not make a scrap if difference but worth a try.

Well I followed your advice Neil and the pictures are certainly loading a lot faster and even the whole forum is running fast at the moment.
I normally never log off the forum when I shut down and hadn't even when you migrated to the new server, so I am wondering if that may have been causing my problem.
