I was a few minutes late leaving for our woodturning club this
evening when the phone rang. Not wanting to get involved in
a conversation with anyone I imitated my wife's voice and
answered, "Hello.

A male voice asked, "Is the coast clear".

What an idiot! I told him I was on my way out to woodturning
and that he should watch the 7.00pm news for the weather report.
