Allthread into a timber beam. Help needed pls.
I need to secure M12 allthread (threaded rod) into a large oregon roof beam through a 20mm hole and don't have access to the rear of the beam.
This is to mount some solar panels on my roof.
Should I
1) Drill an 11 mm hole in the beam 150mm deep and "screw" the rod into the beam?
2) Drill a 12 mm hole and glue the rod into the beam with epoxy or construction glue?
3) Drill a 14 mm hole and glue the rod into the beam (allowing much more glue around the rod)?
4) Something else?
All help appreciated.
