My thanks to FC and his mum for the day. I definitely learned quite a bit about turning, especially since I'm a total newbie at it. Donna, I am passing back through that way next weekend and I'll drop some Bull-oak off for FC. Thanks again everyone. cheers Derek

Okay here's the full report...
After sitting around and talking/showing off wood/work it was off to the "shed." I did a small turning demo and Ivan brought out his planes (some veeeeeeeeery nice HNTs which worked like a dream and a #7 and #8 (huge things them.)
Then delicious lunch and desserts supplied by everyone
Then everyone just sorta moseyed around swapping timber and yacking away. I got showed how to use a cabinet scraper by Ken (Flooby duster) while Neil swiped my Bull oak log
Over all it was a success.. Looking forward to next time
