Question, Who would have ordered the snipers to shoot. I was under the impression that the snipers would have been given orders to only shoot in dire circumstances or when given the order to take the shot NOT BEFORE. A motorcade of official looking cars isnt dire circumstances, unless someone in higher authority gave them permission to take the shot no shooting will (and did) occur

Strewth! I wouldn't have a clue who would give an order to actually shoot someone in that situation or even what would constitute 'dire circumstances' but I have a feeling that the Chaser guys would feel that was the ultimate "nod" to their brand of humour...

They could only have shot if there was an imminent threat of death or serious injury.

APEC or no APEC, the law is the same for everyone.

I actually think they are guilty of causing "Gross embarressment" to the police and govt. Wonder if they can make that a retrospective law

It's ironic that since they work for the ABC, the govt. is footing the bill for all this chaos from both sides of the equation. Oh well. It might be worth a laugh and it will certainly boost the chaser's ratings. Doesn't help the govt. much though.

BTW. Did you notice that it didn't take Bush long to make his first blunder? He's almost as bad as old Bjelke but not as funny. Saying OPEC instead of APEC. He's got the oils on the brain, but sorry, we've got none here. Invade somewhere else.

That was one of the funniest bits of telly i have seen for a while. Aus comedy is in a very bad state and the chasers are a breath of fresh air. I loved the body guards prancin beside the car and one of them nearly getting his foot run over.

And yep, they should have been charged, but will get a slap on the wrist and sign a new multi million $$$$ contract at the same time.

Better than that overated crok of $h!t kath and kim

Yeh, we're ripping those poor buggers off. Can't just blame old Johnnie for that though. It was Whitlams' greed that started the ball rolling there.

I remember hearing an interview with one of the Chasers where he said that the formula had limited life and probably wouldnt last more that a couple of years. They may have legs if this got international attention. Ive heard the War on America book is a scream,

If you or I did this we would be either dead or locked up.
It makes the laws brought in specifically for APEC a farse if nothing more comes of it.

The whole project has shown breaches from shows Lawyers down to the Hire Car Company's respect for law and order. Government ministers had to know as did police.
If the lawyers didn't inform they should be struck off shows the level of corruption and their thoughts on your the tax payers $$$ which will be used to bail these idiots out once again.
Remember these lawyers work for the ABC or the Chasers show, its your money as tax payers pays for the show.

For many years Australian entertainers have followed in USA shoes doing stunts like this.
Norman Gunston, Paul Hogan and Strop and many others.

I love a laugh (never watched the show) but at what cost ??? Could this create a situation in the future of a over reactive security officer.

Royalty around the world have had breaches as well as politicians either for political stunts or satire some have died because of it. oeplle have been put in jail for less ask Amnisty International.

Did anyone see that weird ad on SBS last night slagging off bush and howard about being friendly with Indonesia? It looked like someone hacked into SBS's broadcast because I'm sure their board would never have allowed that content..........truthful as it was.

The US snipers (and other US security personnel) have been given authority to shoot to kill if in their opinion the safety of the US president may be in danger.

They have also been given idemnity from prosecution in those cases.

So if Bush had been outside the hotel (arriving or leaving for one of his travels) at the same time as the chasers stunt there would no longer be any chasers left.

    Default Bad.

    This show is pathetic.
Stupid kids embarrasing good people, most of the time.

I was seriously offended when they turned up at the Melbourne chamber orchestra concert, chanting crap.
Me?? I'd march on down to them, grab one buy the hair and drag him out. Just watch the others follow.

Alas, SWMBO would have blasted me for such an act. And others too.

If you know someone may be offended buy something that you do to them, you don't do it. Right???? OH???? You do?
If we get a reaction, is it providing amusement for others? At someones expense?
Stupid imature behaviour. I've got no sense of humour????. Yeah right!

Respect others professionalism and public image that they wish to maintain.

If you're a journalist with a camera, wanting to talk to me, do not raise your camera BEFORE you approach me. They don't!

    And pay me well!
If a camera crew asks you " Hey wanna get your face on TV?" You say,
    " Yeah sure".
Then say " I will be potentially facilitating the the profit gains of your media org so you must pay me !".

Scum. Many.....( surely not all) of them, cause their muck rakers. Give them nothing. Just look at Ch9 and other stupid current affairs progs.
Are you pwr points killing you? Are you getting the right amount of toppings on your pizza. Then they pick on some store to compliment their story. Stupid behaviour.
Hmmm.... pizza. I get the toppings I want, ha he.

    sign, .....someone......... ha he.
Don't pass them by! Be daring and caring!

Dampen their misery....sit with them and talk a little.

Buy them something to eat and a tram fare to a local mission.
I'm so lucky that I've somewhere to live and have family support.
