    Default Channel Billsed Cuckoos

Worse than the Koels are their 'cousins' the channel billed cockoos, who sing in unison and reply all damn night long, living on mulberries and figs.
Twice the size, twice the noise.

When working up at the block I've noticed there's a rooster that crows all day. I hope it shuts up when the sun goes down or I might have to assassinate it.

It might shut up when the sun goes down but it'll probably start up again at around 4.00 am.

Well, the damned koel is back and it has stripped all the fruit off my jaboticaba tree. The picture shows a bowl of the fruit that we gathered before the koel arrived, about three weeks ago. We had been hoping to pick another crop at the weekend. No such luck:mad:

I'll second that. Those Channel Bills are enough to drive you to criminal acts such as killing wildlife.
The adults are bad enough but the chicks constant screech is madening.
and to top it off the chicks stay in the nest for about 3 months with their real parents hanging around whilst the poor host parents are driven to exhaustion trying to feed a chick that is near twice the size of thenselves.
