Weathering New Merbau
Folks,
I am just about to lay new merbau decking boards. Is it ok for me to just put them down and oil straight away, or should I wash down first then lay?
If I wash first, do I use Oxalic Acid, Napisan, or just a deck cleaner.
How long will it take for the majority of the tannin to leach out?
And the final question...... before I lay the deck, the wood will be stored in the sunlight (on Sunshine Coast, Qld. Will this do it any harm (140 X 22 mm boards)?
regards all,
Mike
