I going to be renovating my bathroom, I need to this on the cheap. Very Cheap.

The tiles in the current bathroom or in good condition, however the color is terrible, so we are going to paint them.

The tiles only go up two thirds, above that is the old rendered brick wall, what i was planning on doing is covering this with either plasterboard, aquacheck or villaboard. Which is the best to use?

This will mean that the wall lining sits flush with the tiles, will this cause a problem?

Also as it is going to be very difficult to screw the sheets in, or even nail, will using stud adhesive be enough? and how can i hold it in place while it grabs? as it is the bathroom i was think of using timber and "jamming" poles up between the walls until it grabs. Would this work?

All advice is appreciated
