wipe really thin coat, allow to dry, sand and reapply
or

i cant find rustins or watco [most recomended] locally - bayswater vicray c

I would flood it and wipe off in 30 minutes
Sand it with fine wet and dry (1000 grit or higher) either by hand or with a ROS
Buff with a clean cloth
Not an expert though. (not by far)Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com
