    You Taped up the neutral and active together???? Well, Done, you have created a short circuit which will continually tripbreaker/blow fuse until it burns off or starts a fire.
    As others here stated you are not qualfied to play with this. Get an electrician!!

    Give Shaunm a break, he's already had the sparky in and if there was any reaming to do, I'm sure the sparky would have already done it, along with explaining the consequences.
