    Default Wascally Wabbits

The Grunt's a considering buying an 11 acre property in Lancefield to build on. We decided that our 30 acres on the Campaspe is a little too remote to live on.

The block we're looking at has a few rabbit burrows on it. Any ideas on how to get rid of rabbits and their burrows. Preferably something humane.

Boxers are really crap at chasing and catching rabbits.

    Chris

PS. Anyone want to buy a great property on the Campaspe with 400 metres of river frontage and great views to Mt Alexander?

    Depends on wotya call humane.

    1. Poison, Pindone based baits available from a rural supplier these days. It is an oat based bait, they need a few feeds of it to kill them, this makes it safer for you. You need to eat afew of them before you get sick.

    2. GAstion, Phostoxin, Fumitoxin tablets. These produce phosphine gas, basically shove 'em down the burrow, cover the hole and walk away. Probably the best option.

To really get rid of them you should follow up by deep ripping the burrows, this destroys their home, although you will need to be vigilant as these same places will be the most likely place for them to start digging again.

I belive these are the only two methods, when combined with the ripping, which will eradicate the rabbits completely.
    Boring signature time again!

.22 caliber with a nice scope

Go for head shots so the rest of the carcase is good eating. Just like chicken but less wings and more drumsticks

thinking about rabbit stew when he was a kid

You wont wipe them out, but can keep them under control, and they are tasty.

I believe that there are plans for an economical and very humane neutron bomb on the 'net. That should fix the widdle cwitters

Sorry if the suggestion of a .22 rifle as a solution to a rabbit problem is wrong
