floor protection feet
Our polished floors are getting a hiding from new chairs. The metal legs for the chairs are tipped by screw in acrylic stoppers. The legs strike the floor at an acute angle (think of an upside down capital Y). does anyone know of a product that will suit? we initially bought some clear sleeves to try which are 15mm of plastic screening (the sleeve) with a carpet section on the bottom. These did not work.
any suggestions please.

Are you referring to this type of protector alreay tried ?

I have used the felt type before

But would not expect them to be any better that the product above, particularly with regards to staying in place.
Apart from that: Photos tell a thousand words, not sure why either of the above would not word unless I am visualising the upside down capital Y incorrectly

We use similar to those in droog's seconds link. Chair legs aren't as splayed as a Y, but the ongoing issue is that the softer options work great in the beginning, but even dust builds up enough to be a problem for the wood floors. Not to mention grains of sand which turn into sandpaper. Need to clean and ultimately replace. And they occasionally detach. That said, I'm no longer as precious with the floor these days

The ends of the arms on our upside down Y are not flat on the floor.
Compare these two images. One has squared of ends, the other not squared off. The not squared off one could use felt feet as the end surface is completely on the ground. The other, the one with squared off ends only touches the ground along the bott edge.

cant wrap it in the self adhesive felt (I would also add super glue or even a screw through the faces) so its over both sharp bits
