Default UAM off BACK ON AGAIN!

I have taken Under Attack Mode off these forums again to see if there is a difference in getting users to the site.

Got my doubts we'll get anything more than a shipload of AI Bots and if it's worth keeping the forums on their own site or taking them back to WWF which will most likely end up un a loss of threads and posts. going back for a long time possibly back to 2023.

I also have Steven sussing out the latest versions of vBulletin and similar to see if their security is any better at keeping the bad AI at bay. I'm in a bit of a quandary over it all not just on here but also on WWF & MWF which has now been off UAM for a few weeks and has currently42951 users online. 16 members and 42935 guests, but appears to be running alright with no timeouts etc.

Will be keeping an eye out to see what happens and hopefully sort everything out by the new year or soon after.

    Cheers - Neil

It must be a burden, but thanks for keeping things going.

We appear to have picked up a few members during the day, currently 40270 users online.

Well that didn't take long to go pear shaped. Only took 6 hours for the bots to come back in force at 6:10PM there were 3 members and 51,553 mostly unwanted and unwelcomed AI bot guests on here and 79,161 of the bloody things on Metalwork Forums bringing all 3 forums to an almost standstill taking minutes to log in if at all and causing errors.

Strangely they didn't seem to bother with Woodwork Forums for some reason. YET!!! not holding out any hope for them to leave WWF alone this time.

Back to the drawing board to see what else can be done to thwart the blight of AI Bots.
    Cheers - Neil

PS the 3 members on here at 6:10PM were Me, DJ and ErrolFlynn
