Only doing the speed limit. 100 km/p/h. Both before and after disintegration that is.

Do you think it will be good for a trip to Melbourne

Did I not tell you this morning to have a good trip and now you have blown it, literally! This usually happens because the tyre deflates or is down on pressure before the trip starts, it overheats and literally falls apart. If it gets a puncture while you are driving it comes under the heading of stuff happens. Take a trip from a truck driver, walk around the trailer with a small hammer and hit each tyre when you are getting fuel or having a break, you soon get a feel for what is right.

I dare you to take it to a tyre repair place and ask, "Can it be repaired please?"

When travelling with the boat I carry a handheld infrared thermometer to check the wheel bearings as well. Saves bending down and dirtying hand.
