When I first heard of The Corrs, I thought it must have been The Cause
(which made some kind of sense).
Years ago I saw some vision of an early BBC TV production where the old fuddy-duddy anchor introduced a band called The Pink Floyd (because everyone thought that a band name started with "The" back then). So surely following his logic and yours this problematic band is actually The The The? In that case I think Uncle Al's suggestion of The Stutters will gain some ground.
But then, to do justice to him it should be Th-The S-Stutt-tt-erers. At least taking off "Th-The" will save some time......

Good to know Doug.
Well it finally came to the time when I had to bite the bullet. Until now I could do what I liked with the name, but now I'm converting all the files to MP3 and creating playlists.

dBpowerAmp Stephen, and yes there's a MAC version or you can get a master licence for MAC and PC. Pretty sure they have versions for other devices too.
I find it excellent, and it was referred to me by those who know. Comes with a suite of (I think) 4 different programs. One for ripping CDs to puta (in heaps of different formats), one for converting to other formats, another that does the same in batch mode (which is what I used). I converted the entire flac library (130Gb) in 6 steps, and it took a total of ~3 hours. There were some false starts while I got the folder names sorted out, but they have a their own forum (same format as this one) and the help was excellent.
As an example, the flac files are all in C:\2. MUSIC and I wanted to put the MP3 files in C:\2. MP3 MUSIC. Now within C:\2. MUSIC each artist has its own folder and then each album has its own folder. When I did the original rip it takes all the folder names from the CD (I guess you can do otherwise though), so I was getting
C:\2. MUSIC\Jimmy Barnes\Two Fires which I promptly changed to
C:\2. MUSIC\Barnes, Jimmy\Two Fires
but when I converted to MP3 it was going back to the original and I didn't fancy going through and renaming all over again (particularly with the classics and some problematic Jazz albums - classical tags are).
So it meant I had to check the "Dynamic" box and put this code in:
[TRIMFIRSTFOLDER][TRIMFIRSTFOLDER][origpath][][]\[origfilename] (this was the help I was given - not smart enough by myself).
The first two TRIMFIRSTFOLDER blocks mean ignore the artist and album name on the CD and then the next two blocks specify to use the path (Barnes, Jimmy) and album name (Two Fires) that I had specified.
Once I had that sorted it was full steam ahead (it remembers what you have specified for the next time, even if you close the pgm).
It was indeed that that saved me from getting The, The when I really wanted The The or The had I so chosen
I didn't get Perfect Tunes with it (for playlist management) but went with JRiver Media Center instead (again on the advice of those who know).
