Why do they call it a flat?
I lay it on its side and seriously it looked fine to me.
Making my 1000km or do sojourn to Sydney for my brothers internment (and the Katoomba GTG) and not 60 km out of town realised I forgot all my batteries. No this is a problem as i was to do some maintenance for my SIL and thiseould cover my travel expenses. So add another 120 km to the trip.
As yiu might have noticed was a good thing i went back for my batteries. Made jacking and nut removal so much easier. Could get a job in the pitts at the Grand Prix i reckon
Now try being about 70 km or so from the closest regional centre at 7pm with no spare. It looks like this
One can be greatful for a trucking company with onsite gear enough to change a dud valve and working into the night. For a little grease in the palm in the shade of red we are back on the road.
With all the stuffing around getting into Sydney at 10 pm became more like 6am.
Hope yiu enjoyed the read or had a little chuckle at my expense

Dave as a wise old sage once said to me "They are like ego's easily deflated"
I see that there is yet another majormoment and you made it worse having returned home...........there is not one piece of timber your bring up with you
to the GtG..OR is this to take back with you Greg's stock, Brett's off cuts, Paul's saw's and Pat's sale items. Not to mention the lucky door prize.

"Hey mate, you've got a flat tyre."
"It's ok. It's only on the bottom."

Silly question, I know, but why couldn't you just remove the wheel with the flat and keep driving on 3 wheels and get it repaired in Sydney?

Dengy

as someone said: only flat on the bottom
but it made me wonder why we call a unit/tenement a flat .... (actually from flet = floor) ... with a slight digression because i also noticed flitch and had to read about that (started as sliced fish and generalised to become slices), i then wondered how the word storey came to be ... another digression while i also checked story (incidentally they both apparently come from the same word as history .... history was used in roman times to mean a storey, but it isn't exactly clear why it was so used)
and i find a half hour has gone by just reading the dictionary
have a laugh at me as well

You could but something tells me that you need to be a lot faster.
No time wasted there. The knowledge you have gained and then shared is far more valuable then money. Anyone can earn money and can be lost, knowledge on the other hand is a little harder to loose.
