Amazing restraint shown by forum members here. There was clearly the opportunity for a risque comment or two and there were at least three subtle allusions but nothing that would arouse the censor.

I was particularly taken by mic-d's "I smell leopard. I hate leopard." as that reflected a caption I might have posted myself. It would have run something like:

"When Hercules remembers he is part lion, his lady friend may want to consider changing her spots."

Incidentally, Hercules is real and apparantly is the largest living felid. He is a 410Kg Liger, the result of a cross between a male lion and female tiger. This particular mating produces exceptional hybrid vigour, but it seems not neccessarily the normally associated aggression. To put his size into perspective a male lion would weigh around 250Kg and a tiger perhaps 300Kg.

I think in the end it was the girl's strange, to my mind, choice of clothing that alerted me to some possibilities here.

However in the end I thought Pugwash's "Anastasia, enraged by the ban on animal skin clothing, decides to grow her own." was priceless and sufficiently quirky to take out the top prize.

Now that rings a bell, I had forgotten about. I read a few of those books, but became all cave-beared out after the third one or was it the fourth. Canadian female author I think; Auel, or similar.

I seem to recall a large cat (prehistoric) which the heroine rode. I am going to have to be a little careful how I proceed from here, but from memory it was at least as big as Hercules and clearly we have a few girlie tastes in common. There I said it. However, I'm over it now though.

First book was ok, then downhill from there. By the third it was distinctly Mills and Boon-ish
I forgot she rode a cave lion. I think she rode a horse too

Sponsors had originally hope to host a game of "Real Tennis," but that was quickly quoshed when they realised the court would exceed the take-off weight and it was not until the advent of the Boeing 747 in the late sixties that this could become a reality. However by that time, the public killjoy, WPHS, had put a stop to all sporting activities on the wings of aircraft unless they wore high vis clothing.
