I was talking to my painter mate yesterday, who originally hails from Christchuch.
Hi mother still lives there by herself and she is a bit shaken. He was talking to her on the phone when a 5 aftershock hit, the other day. Can't be a pleassant experience.

A 5.1 magnitude aftershock hit this morning...centred in the Lyttleton Harbour 10km NW of Charteris Bay. The Lyttleton Road Tunnel has been closed due to cracks in the wall of same.

Yep, it goes on and on..... A few things broken but otherwise we are OK.

170 aftershocks......they aren't scarey anymore......they're bloody annoying.
I haven't been further than Rangiora and Tuahiwi......how are things in Amberley? Assuming you're still where your location says you are, MurrayD99.We don't know how lucky we are......
