Screen Door too big

Hi All,
I have just re-tiled the laundry, ripped the old ones off and had new ones layed down. Alas the screen door does not fit anymore, new tiles were a bit thicker. The wooden door was easy enuff to fix with a planer, just wondering whether there is anything i can do to the screen door, without buying a new one?
Pics can be taken if needed of the door...

Hi RenoGirl, If the frame sits externally like they usually do its just a matter of taking the frame off and setting it back a bit higher as needed. You may have to cut new achitrave longer on the sides.. this all depends on what type of setup you have.

If it is a screen door lift the rubber spline out of the groove at the top and peel it down each side about 200mm and then lift the fly screen mesh out of the groove. If there are any rivets in the corners at the top drill them out. Then with a wooden mallet or a piece of wood and a hammer tap each side on the inside of esch corner and drive the top rail out of side stiles. You will then be able to cut the required amount of each mitre on the stiles. When you have done that reassemble in the reverse order.

If it is a security door you will have to drill the rivets out of the security grille also.

It will probably better to do this on the bottom on a security door because the striker plate will still line up.

You probably could do this on the bottom of a screen door also but if the screen door has a kick plate in the bottom it will make the job harder than removing the striker plate for the lock.

Here are some pics of the screen door and where it goes, is there anyway that i could sand back the wood rather than take the door apart? The amount needed is about 1-3mm

You are probably right as 1-3mm is not very much. If you took the top architrave off you could plane that much off quite easily
