Default Mystery Bird - Help with identification

Q:What looks exactly like a female Satin Bowerbird, but doesn't have blue eyes?
A:THE BIRD THAT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY.

okok its not driving me crazy, not being able to figure out what it is, is driving me crazy.
Its very skittish so I haven't been able to get a good picture yet. Sorry for the dirty windows.

There are actually two. One is missing its left eye and the other I'm only certain I've seen twice. It comes in to the feeder, takes a look at the seed, maybe takes a bit, but mostly just looks around. I'm fairly certain its eyes are brown not sapphire blue and I think I heard it make a gravelly-hiss at a cheeky Rosella once. Its not very bold with the other birds.

    Visual,:
Its too big and its tail too short compared to it's body for a little wattlebird, and it doesn't have the speckling on it's nape/wings for a spotted bowerbird.

From what I can remember: its flanks, belly, sides, breast, vent and femoral tract are all white/brown scalloped. I think its nape and mantle are a uniform khaki-olive brown. The median and greater coverts are an olive brown while the primary coverts and possibly primaries are russet. The bill seems a bit short for the body size and I don't remember any real flashes of colour.
It's a general olive, russet, wet sand brown kind of colour.
I didn't get a good look at its back between the wings or her tail.

    Any suggestions?
If I get any more pics I'll post..... and i'll clean my windows

My guess is either a female Green Catbird or a female Regent Bowerbird.

Here are plenty of images of a female Eastern Koel.

Can't tell from your pic if it's a match or not, BUT they are around here atm (you can prolly here the same male calling constantly that I can). They seem to arrive in October.

He is of course calling out for a mate. I'm blessed if I know how he expects to get it with such wotten behaviour like that.

rinse and repeat a thousand times a day.

Perhaps you could catch your female and bring her up on Sunday? He might bugger off then.

I'm a frequent stalker of the aussie bird sites XD I think I checked that one but I can't be sure.
I didn't think it was a catbird because all the pics I've seen they're a bright emerald green and this one's more dun, khaki and dark olive coloured. Also I haven't heard the characteristic Meow call they do. But I'll look into that a bit more. Definite potential.

I looked into the female Koel too because as Brett said, there are plenty up here. I have some photos of the male displaying in our trees, but again, all the photos of females seem to have dark speckling on the wings, a dark crown/nape and a dark malar stripe. This girl definitely doesn't have speckling on the wings or that throat stripe.

A female regent bowerbird, or a very dull catbird sound the most likely so far. There's absolutely no way of catching her. If she sees me in the windows she's likely to sk'daddle. Thank you everybody! It'd be so much easier if she'd turn around and I could get a clear back shot of her wings!

Wheelin - I've been Canada goosed, am frequently called a loonie, and I'm definitely a snowy-night owl. XD But maybe I'm a Shearwater. They migrate between Canada & Aus... Latin name: LazyAssus Puffinus
