Wanting a weathered look with Merbau
I've read plenty of topics relating to the best approach to finish merbau decking such that it retains its natural orange-brown appearance, however, I want my decking to have a weathered look. The following photo is an example of the colour I would like it to be (I don't know what type of wood is in the photo):

I have read that "merbau will turn a silver gray if left untreated". Can anyone confirm this is the case. Will it look similar to the wood in the photo?
Also, are there any issues I need to be aware of it I leave it untreated - e.g. staining next to screws, splintering, etc.
