    Default Greetings from California

lol, I was looking for woodworkers on the Central Coast (of California) and google returned the link for this site. Strangely enough, I was wondering if there were woodworking forums around just yesterday!

    So, by way of introduction:

I'm just an old teacher (1st grade mostly) who enjoys biting off more than she can chew just about all the time.

Ongoing interests include Scottish Country Dancing and raising six different breeds of show chickens.

I have quite a collection of poultry enclosures (of various degrees of sturdiness and usefulness).

Current irons in the fire encompass the many facets of remodeling a bedroom, living room, and two bathrooms. Currently, I am trying to come up with the perfect wainscoting for one of them (am always wondering if it looks right)

I use Google Sketchup a LOT! Imagine me jumping up and down when I found a place for it right here!

Have I told you all too much? I hope not. I hope someone will have a few questions.

    Cheers, then,
    Banty

I add my welcome, BantyMom, and No, you did not give too much information.

I do wonder what you do in your spare time. Fall into bed exhausted?

Would you care to tell us the breeds of your poultry, please?

Welcome Banty. The Renovation forum accessed through the left hand sidebar may also be of interest to you, although with bathroom plumbing renovations it will be important to watch out for differences in US and Oz plumbing.

Thank you everyone for the kind welcome.

I am always running behind. It's taking forever to remodel the house.

My raise bantam silver Phoenix; black Silkies; white-crested black Polish; black, blue, and silver Araucanas; various colors of Belgain Bearded d'Uccles (and am working on breading a variety that is only so far found in Australia); and black Orpingtons.

Here are links to pictures of some of them:

    Welcome BantyMom,

Like the look of your birds, especially the polish, I have backyard birds for egg production not show standard. At the present have a wyandotte, leghorns, barnevelder x welsummer, and a few "parentage: your guess is as good as mine", for a total of nine girls running around.

Good to see the two hobbies combining in your chicken tractor as well,

    Welcome BantyMom,

Ain't into chooks meself, but renovating a house? You are right that it takes a long time. Started my renovations when I moved in in 1969. Still got a bit to do. That's the trouble when you have other interests.
