?blackwood extendable dining table.
I want to find out if I can restore this dining table mechanism. I think this Rod and it's threaded insert are broken. Can I get a replacement for this or is it too old fashioned? I have called 3 restorers in my area and they are all flat out busy and not interested in coming to look at the job. 1 did not call back at all.
Yours hopefully.

Extension table winder mechanism
You can purchase that gadget complete from specialist Restoration outlets, there's a Company in Adelaide called, " Olde Adelaide Restoration, " Shop, out in Magill that has the Extension Winder Mechanism in their catalogue, therefore other dedicated Restoration Products Stockists in any Australian City should either have what you are seeking, or be able to order in the replacement part/s.
I have had to replace several Extension Table Winding Mechanisms over the years on various jobs I have done for clients.
Hope this bit of info is of some help to you

Thanks for your reply Roger. I will have a go at finding the mechanism, I have seen one online priced $350 dollars. A bit steep for me.
