Aquarium stands/cabinets
I am currently toying with the idea of making an aquarium stand/cabinet for a 48" tank.
Anybody had any experience making one?
The things I have seen look like a piece of furniture, with doors underneath to store filters etc.
Any feed back would be welcome

Coastie ,I'll assume that is isn't meant as a joke so I'll answer in the belief that you posted in the wrong forum
. I've seen some that were made outta MDF ....looked good but you would'nt want the seal on the tank to give way.
Had a fold-up section with piano hinge giving access to the fluoro light as well as the open section of the tank for feeding/cleaning.
The way I see it a 48" tank is gonna need a fair bit of support with the weight of the water etc so I'd be constructing the carcase with solid timber or metal frame, with timber/MDF surround.
