I'm officially Unemployed
Well, after all theses years, the sale of my share of the business to my partner (business variety - not the other kind) goes through tomorrow morning.
I cleaned out the desk and my whole office today. Pretty sad really. We opened that business in 1994 with nothing and finished up with 3 offices, 22 employees and all the crap that goes along with it.
I'm now taking a short break but starting to wonder what to do for the last 10 or so years of my working life. Too young to retire.
maybe IT - fixing computers, just working by myself. That would make a nice change.
Very mixed feelings tonight. It didn't hit me until i walked out of the office this evening and handed the whole lot to my Sales Manager of 10 years.
Think I'll hit the red.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

wow Gumby Congrats and commiserations all at once. Leaving your baby is kind of like one of your kids moving out of home. Happy because you have time to yourself and that they are growing up but sad too because they are no longer dependant on you for anything, but you know that you will get calls asking how to do different things and so on.
Well done on the separation and just turn to the shed for inspiration regarding your next ten years. Perhaps teaching? Or running your own how to clinics.....
The mind boggles
PeteIf you are never in over your head how do you know how tall you are?

I take my hat off to ya....
Have a break.....regroup......and if you feel like it
try something else
enjoy your time off.....you lucky bugger100% of all non-smokers die

Good on ya Gumby.
BTW, Happy Lastday mate. (I didn't say birthday did I?)
From this day forward, the 13th of September will be 'Gumby's lastday.'
Only 'cos he hates birthdays.
Strange coincidence, the 13th of September was the day I joined the RAAF so my discharge date was the 12th. (Last century, not yesterday)
Hey Gumby, you want a computer business?
I can't sell mine so I'm giving it away.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
