I am in need of renovating our bathroom. There are two reasons why I want to do this,
  1. The bathroom is in a horrible black and white scheme.
  2. There is a huge water leak from behind the shower wall. Turn the shower on and you'll flood out downstairs.
When the house was built the builders (company that built the house) failed to come through on the warranty, and they since went bankrupt, so the water problem is mine.

My thoughts on the project are as follows;
  1. Remove the tiles, trace and repair the leak in the wall.
  2. Remove and replace any timber that has been damaged by the water ingress through the house.
  3. Waterproof and reline the walls.
  4. Retile and install new vanities, shower base etc.
Is there anything else that I need to worry about. It's an upstairs bathroom, there are another 2 in the house so I've got the time to do it right.
