Default Cutting Top off Posts - This looks open to problems

I came across this pic of a bloke in US who was building a small deck along a section of his above ground pool.

I use a hand held power saw when I cut off posts but this guy does something different....it makes me think that the saw & cut off piece is relying a lot on that small clamp at the bottom.

Lots of stuffing around for a single cut.... Learn to use a circular saw and follow a line and you could cut the whole fence in the time he would set 1 cut up

    Sorry,
Only sore the pic but that looks dumb.
As Gab said learn to use a circular saw with confidence and respect it to.

And how long would it take just to set the saw up. I would not be able to do that by myself.
Use a track saw, even with two cuts would take no time.

Hmmm. Sort of like cutting a branch whilst perched up in a tree with one foot on either side of the cut - so far, so good.
