Potato & Onion Box Internal Finish
Hi people
Im making potato & onion boxes, with the exterior finish being stain and Estapol Satin. These boxes will be sold at local markets. My question, Is there any reason why the internal finish for these boxes could NOT be the same as the external finish eg; Stain & Estapol Satin ???

I've made and sold buckets of those things over the years. Never used to finish the inside. If you really want to finish the inside I would go with shellac. I've got one I have had for about 12 years, no finish on the inside, and it's not any worse for wear because of it.
Wouldn't mind seeing a pic of your design. You show me yours, and I'll show you mine!!!!!

Finishing the inside may help the spuds and onions to sweat and rot.
Raw timber will draw moisture away ftom them and keep them fresher for longer.
Bit like an enclosed book case - raw timber good books, finished timber (in the wrong conditions) mouldy books.
