Default How would you raise this roof?

New house has an aluminium posted outdoor area. Trouble for us is the roof is too low. Where it is attached to the garage, we can lift and reattach it. Wondering what to do at the top of the posts to lift the roof about 8 inches?IMG20251206144035.jpgIMG20251206144042.jpgIMG20251206144048.jpg

i think the photo's only show one small part of the problem. what are you going to fill the holes with once raise and reattached.

but just measure the posts and find the same one, screw some metal flat bar on the inside of the old post.... sit the new post extension ontop of the old and sink some screws through it.

The solution is relatively simple, just use longer posts.

Problem is you will probably need to deconstruct the roof, remove the old posts that are probably set in concrete and once new ones are install re-install the roof.
