Been away a while. Hospital, nervous breakdown, no job, broke and drowning in debt and all that stuff. Shed is gathering dust, tools sitting idle, can't get motivated at the minute, entering the final act of the dead marriage. Gotta move house again 6th time in 18 months. Can things get any worse....:C trying to resist selling my tools....wonder what deep fried wood dust takes like?

Best remedy i know of is get out there and do something, even if you dont finish it you will be surprised how the other worries seem less while you are thinking about the wood work you are doing.

Gotta agree with the others advice - get into the shed. When things seem a bit out of control for me, bit of 'therapy' with the tools always seems to work. Retreat into the shed where I am in control of things works wonders. Sometimes just a few hours will do it, sometimes its a few hours a few times a week for a few weeks.

Obviously not the best of times Sheddie and it will take time and effort to get back on an even keel. Head to the shed, get active and GET HELP. you are entitled to counselling. See your GP and get the paperwork done.

Even just doing some cleaning up in the shed with the radio blaring my favorite tunes helps to pick me up when down & u know theres always some cleaning thats needed to be done in the shed, mine seems to get pigged up so easily!
Counciling has also been mentioned & i'll also second that vote. Us guys are way too quick to shake our heads at the idea of councilling but just talking problems out with a complete stranger who won't judge you is worth its weight in gold.

There is another story here somewhere ... either things are morbidly rotten in the staffing of members of parliament, or this is just another taxpayer-funded rort.
I'm very sorry to hear about your relationship problem - I know how that feels from personal experience - and I know how it is when the finances get bad ... but now you know what most self-employed people go through on a regular basis.
If you are "lucky", it is because there is a soft-touch government, paid for by us, that you can touch for a soft ride into the future :(
Sounds like you are on the mend Sheddy, hope things stay on the up and up. People have different experiences I suppose so this may not work for you, but when I had some low spots and people told me to "do the right thing by my loved ones" or you hear that spoken to others in a similar predicament, that didn't help me zot. But I know a young fella with dreams and aspirations who worked hard, studied hard and put in his best to get me to where I am now and that young fella deserves that I continue to put in my best, because he didn't give up on me. I'm pretty sure there's a young fella behind you who would feel the same way:)

Crikey Sheddie, I didn't realise that things were that gloomy. Take care of yourself now you have a little mate to look after. Is your GP up to the task of chatting? Don't be afraid to ask for a referal, yeah I know that's easier after the claim is accepted. Don't stop the medication in a hurry just because you wake up one morning feeling pretty good...can have dire consequences.
