Buy, swap 'N' sell

Dear members, I'm not sure how this polling works, so I'll get straight to the point.

I would like to see a separate buy, swap and sell section, within the Metalwork Forum.

It is most inconvenient having to leave the Metalwork Forum, and navigate to the Woodwork Forum, then scroll down to find the appropriate heading.

Most woodies are not interested in buying parts for their metal lathe, or a welder to fix up a mistake where the chisel slipped. Their priorities are more likely to be having the fridge full, and in keeping their chisels sharp, and visa versa.

That's it, what happens now, I have no idea.

I think that a lot of us are shed tinkerers and interested in all facets of fiddling.

My first choice is woodwork but I like tinkering with lathes, mills and anything else that presses my buttons at the time. I appreciate the crisp sound of a sharply honed handplane as well as the satifsaction of clearing out a bucket load of swarf after a day on the lathe.

My thoughts are to separate the buy selll area to categories will limit the market when a lot of us are interested in all areas and are potential buyers.

Could you keep them as a seperate FAVORITE in your 'Favorites'
One for Metalwork,
the other for Buy, swap 'N' sell

Is it really that hard to go out of metal working and go down to the Buy, Sell & Swap, its not that far really. I would hate to see them separated, I have seen lots of items I didn't even know I wanted until they appeared in here:rolleyes:.

I'd have to agree with corbs, this site is huge with a lot of sub topics already. Surely clicking back once or twice then scrolling down isn't that hard.:doh:

Yep I agree I don't feel its that difficult.

Perhaps a separate Buy & Sell for hand planes, and another for Triton, another for timber....

If one is split off, then why not all the rest?

This is a woodworking forums, just happens to have a metalwork section. Most other woodwork forums out there wouldn't even consider having a metal section at all.

I agree, not very hard at all.

I rarely use the front forum navigation page anyway. Most of my forum viewing is done from either iSpy or New Posts, and I just ignore those posts that don't interest me.

I find that I often read things of interest that I wouldn't otherwise see.

Poll added.

Under all sections you start with a Title if you find it in Buy Sell & Swap and are not interested like any thing else don't bother looking. I'd prefer it all in ONE spot.

E-pay Trad-post news papers no matter where you do a search things all end up often in the same search and listing.

I often look at the music makers section, boat section depending on whats the topic.

I agree with all the above (not the first one) keep all the buy swap & sell together so we can see what things are on offer. If you make one for metalwork then you might as well delete buy swap & sell and just have these posts in the ordinay forum section that they apply too.

Not sure what you mean by this, maybe i am not a woodworker or in the minority because i dont drink (alcohol) or smoke so the fridge doesnt even get a place in my shed.

Also i know a couple of "metalworkers" who actually drink.:2tsup::D

Clearly, I've lost the plot after reading the above threads.

I can now see the merit in leaving things as they are.

My oppologies to any member offended by having a full fridge, Engineers also use the amber liquid as a coolant, I'm no exception.

Don't know what I was thinking, must have been dreamin.
