Short answer no. It has been looked into and it is not an option available at this time.
Sorry
I hate the jokes. Its just as annoying as the whole Drivel saga. Put them in the Drivel forum so they don't show up.....for the love of doG..:2tsup:
My first wish is to win lotto, my second is to filter crap jokes and pen turning from New Posts. Struck out both times:(
Sorry
Killing me Bad......l:p
Each to thier own, and Im sure my crap bores people witless as well :D, but lordy me, theres only so many "little alan walked into a shop" jokes that one can take :)
thanks anyway, me filter will have to be my eyes. :)
NB I love you joke guys and dont want you to feel like ya getting the cold shoulder.... so heres a big:snog:
love dazzler
There is always the ignore feature if they really bother you.
Go to Control Panel and look in the left column. Select Buddy / Ignore
thanks groggy
I was actually winding the jokes guys up a bit.
I was hoping for a more 'generic' filter, you know, one to filter out the boat guys, those pesky girls, pen people and them smelly intarsias :D.
Daz,
I wish they would hurry up and BITE!!!!
My pet hate with the "new items" search is that it displays the time & date of latest update, but not the date the thread was started.
I really hate it when I see an interesting item for sale, open the thread, then find out it was posted 18 months ago, and someone just added a question or comment.:((:((
I would be really nice if you could either see both dates, or select your preference and have that one displayed.
Groggy, you suggested using the IGNORE feature, but can you ignore a forum? I thought this feature was only to ignore users.
I've got no reason to ignore a specific user, I just get irritated by post after post of drivel under the heading of Woodies Jokes.
Oh if I am grumpy,
This is what I do,
I stomp around the house,
You do it too!
Show that you're grumpy,
Stomp along with me,
We're grumpy for all to see.
We're grumpy, yeah we're grumpy,
We're grumpy you and me.
That is good, I write the jokes for a mob of woodworkers to post on a wood forum. :2tsup:
But they still come up in the "New Post" search, it's just that the actual post is ignored within a thread.
Obvious solution is to make the jokes forum a subforum in Nothing to do with woodwork and make it password accessible same as the drivel forum.
Then those that want them can see them, those that don't don't and everyone will be happy.:D
Peter.
I wouldn't have thought the joke section would cause that much problem. Looking at the joke forum I see that 19 jokes have been posted in 4 days and these jokes generated 39 replies which make the total posts up to 58 in all. Over a period of 4 days, if we count a day as 8 hours, that represents 1.8 posts in an hour on average. I know it doesn't work out like that but even so if there was 5 or 6 posts in any one given hour from the joke forum, is it really that difficult to pass over them to the post you are looking for.
I guess we all have to do that because we all have differing ideas and facets to our woodworking interests and there are a lot of threads that we have to skip over in the process of looking at the ones we are interested in.
Finally a bite :wink::D
