I could tell Gov where to stick there pension
Get an icy cold mud and sit down, then ring the boss and tell him where the job can be shoved, without lube:U
I'd get a new ute.
And go out to Dinner on Friday's
i would build the best indoor hockey stadium in the world.
Become Santa Claus for a while. :D
Buy Tasmania and turn it into a theme park and with the money left over I would buy Bunnings and Carba-Tec. Save the rest for a rainy day.
Oh and while I was at it, I would get that new MJ2325B I been after.:) Might get that before I bought Tasmania.
Hey bitingmidge, did you know your avatar moves.:)
Funny, I read the title of this thread an expected see details of a cheap bandsaw mill. I suppose $47M would by a lot of bandsaws.
I'd hire a sniper to take out the jerk who keeps knocking my ute's mirrors out of whack when you can fit three people in the gap. :(
"Buy Tasmania and turn it into a theme park"
Someone beat you to it John.
Buy some more Tas Blackwood
then bomb Japan
then invade NZ
If there is anything left then buy more Tas Blackwood.:D
I might even buy some tools.
Like a triton sawbench and a GMC saw
True but who cares at todays interest rate for $40 mill I could live off that as a pension
What of the other $7 mill land shed tools autos plane for the family
But if US winner are anything to go off many have gone broke fast from hiring lawyers accountants etc.
Trust me, most people who have come into that sort of money as opposed to earning it, seem to have failed.
It's an interesting thing. You'd wonder how it could be done, but I've seen it a few times myself, so know that it happens. In one case the bloke is down to his last $10m and started with nearly $200. I'm betting the rest'll be gone by the end of this decade too!
The other observation of people who do have that sort of dough is that despite what one might think, they aren't free to do what they like. It grabs them, and they have a full time job looking after it.
Don't wish it on yourself.
On the other hand, I have a fair idea what to do with it, so if you do happen to win, give me a call!
Cheers,
P
:D
 HUM GIVE MIDGE A CALL oops not shouting caps lock on
Nah he can't handle my other questions so he couldn't handle one about $47 mill :D
I've known a few winners not that big
One fellow I worked with won it often still worked so did his wife.
Tax eats most of it
Id just buy a nice 5Ha block, build a nice house, then build the ultimate woodworkshop and a carworkshop.
Invest enough to earn $100K per year and give the rest to my family and a good charity.
That'll be the life I reckon, making highend furniture and hotrods!
I just want the money back I already spent trying to win it :-
