Pete
Wow - easy to use and totally great!!
:2tsup:
Doesn't work in my browser (Firefox). All I see is a big white box with "Planter Box" and a notice about downloading PDF Reader (which I already have).
Hah! Yeah, I say that to someone at least once a week "well it works on my machine". Trouble is I still have to try and work out why it doesn't work on their machine.
I reckon it's got something to do with the way it's embedded in the page. Never seen a PDF come up like that before. I reckon you'd be better to just have a link to the PDF on the page. Or at least put a link to it at the top of the page as well for suckers like me who don't have the right plugin installed.
Oh BTW Sir Stinkalot, great job there, very good instructions and drawings:2tsup:
I don't know. Theoretically it should work if you have Acrobat Reader installed. Maybe it's not registered correctly or something.Quote:
So what plugin am I missing out on?
Although Stinky has done a terrific job on the site in general, I have to agree with silent that it would be better if the pages were not actually embedded. I would then still have access to all the tools that I normally use in Adobe such as a magnifier, or fit to width etc.
But that is a relatively minor quibble on such a great job.
ps there is a picture on the "replacing a brick" page that will not load as I apparently don't have permission to view it.
Replace this:
<div id="wb_Plugin1" style="position:1259px;896px;826px;z-index:3" align="left">
<embed src="SIMPLE PLANTER.pdf" id="Plugin1" border="0" autostart="false" loop="false" width="896" height="826" Planter Box="">
</div>
With this:
<a href="SIMPLE PLANTER.pdf">Simple Planter.pdf</a>
Thanks Silent, just one question.
Where do I put it? :? And be nice...:U
Al :?:?
I can put it in a html window that comes up like a link.
When clicked it brings up the full pdf window.
Its a start.
Al :2tsup:
I am being a little bit of a smart asre :D
In your WYSIWYG thingy there should be a button to insert a link, like when you put in a link to another page or web site. If you get rid of the embedded PDF and replace it with one of them, or even just add it to the page in addition to whats already there, then you will have covered all bases.
Here ya go Bob, pdf's in their own window with some help from Silent. :cool:
Al :2tsup:
It's good that you managed to sort out your website with help from people who are silent and stinky.
Chris
That is really good stuff there Al. Well done to all your helpers.
BUT, I still cannot get to view the brick. I clicked on the brick and I got :

You don't have permission to access /images/Insert brick.jpg on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Hmmm, I also just clicked onto the Dutch jointer link on that same page and got a pageful of picture place holders. (with the titles on the backgrounds) I am using Firefox but that shouldn't be a problem. All the picture files on this page purport to be of type .png
