Dave TTC has suggested I hold a GTG regarding blacksmithing be it a demo session or a hands on have a crack intro.
So I'm putting it out there to see if there is actually any interest?

Interested. :)
well I'm interested
cheers
Very interested.....
Are you guys interested in just seeing a demo of a something or a few things made or would you potentially like to have a go?
I could certainly swing a hammer for a tap or two...it'd give me more of an idea if I need to start ANOTHER hobby that would take up too much money and time I don't have (speaking of which, if my brain is working you'd be a sleepless new dad right about now - hope it's all going well)
love to have a go haven't done any smithing since I was a teenager a long long time ago in a g..........
Its something I am interested in but have decided not to take up due to space and time constraints. Well, nothing bigger than what you can do with a gas torch and little else. Anything bigger and I would outsource it.
Having said that, I would like to attend and learn more about it.
Cheers
Doug
I'm in and I'll swing a hammer if oppurtunity is there

Thats five if we get about 8-10 I'll put something together as some usually can't make a date that the majority can.
Do you have a rough month in mind at all. I reckon simplicity might be in too

Haven't really had a chance to look at the calendar and plan it but I'm doing a number of events in the next weeks so it would probably be in the last half of June.

Perfect weather to huddle round a red hot piece of metal!!
Would like to come down for the day if I can fit in into the schedule, things are a little uncertain at the mo, house build starting in abt 6 weeks, shed (big barn) going up at the same time then has to fitted out and occupied, her maj has just had the pre op clinic for a knee replacement, no date for the op yet but anticipated 2-6 weeks before and a fair amount of stay around required after. Once you set a date I should be able to say definitely yeah or neah about a month out.
interested as well depending of time and place.
2nd half of June may just clash with SWMBO's birthday, so once a day has been advised, I will be in a better position to confirm (or otherwise).
Having never done any blacksmithing, I am only too happy to have a hands on go, and swing a hammer if I must. :D
What suburb will this be held in?
I would be interested
Sounds like a bash
Great to see GTG happen

Sounds great. I wanted to jump the rope at Sovereign Hill and help the smithy two years ago. Put me on the list as a possible.

Would love for it not to be April 30 as it's my birthday and I'm sure family would get in my way of attending.....
But that's just me so if it is, so be it (just my wishes)
What you have better things to do on your birthday than hang out with us blacksmithing???
Prob June works better for me but can likely make May work too

April 29 may be a bit short of notice for some.
But for my self not that bothered it's coming in to the colder seasons so not as much going on.
I bring marshmallows any way.
Cheers Matt
Ok let work backwards is there anyone who can't make it in June or has a preferred date in June?
Matt your Marshmallows better be Gluten Free!!!!!
Here are the dates that will not suit me, whole of April, 27th of May (woodturning club meeting), 17th & 18th of June (Awtex exhibition) and the 24th of June (woodturning club meeting).
Any other dates are fine with me.
Peter.
for me, not April. A Saturday in June would be best for me. But so far there's nothing in my calendar for any of the May and June that cannot be overcome.
The sooner the date is declared the sooner I can lock it in and make sure Jools does not triple book us for the day.
Cheers
Doug
Yes I would like a go..
Any of the dates seems alright to me :)
Whilst I cannot confirm with any hard and fast certainity, as I may be committed with family arrangements that I know nothing about :? May appears to be the best option for me.
Hope this helps.
George
Love to come and swing a hammer but I haven't a plan to travel down to Melb :-
If there is still room, I would like to attend/watch/try blacksmithing.
Date is unlikely to be a problem.
If you like, I can borrow some of the other half's gluten free marshmallows to bring along.
Well maybe "borrow" is not quite correct but near enough.
thanks
