There are occasions on these forums where the staff at Bunnings come in for a bit of criticism. Sometimes the criticism is warranted often it's not.
Just to give everyone an idea of some of theidiotspeople we have to deal with on a daily basis I have attached this photo. This is not a setup photo, nor is it photoshopped (except to disguise the rego #). It was taken last August at the Cranbourne store by a team member. Take a real good look.

Dumb. He shoulda' knocked out the rear window and stuck the ends into the back seat area - wouldn't have needed to buy rope then!!!
Don't be silly, If he's taking out the back window he can take out the front one as well and wouldn't need the trailer.Quote:

Seriously though, how could anyone contemplate roping a plank like that? I'm a little gobsmacked. A few sandwiches short of a picnic comes to mind.
Maybe he was thinking he was going to drive in a straight line all the way home.
Actually he couldn't even get out of the parking bay, and had to unload the timber. I'm going to ask the guy who took the photo what the end result was, I'll see him on Thursday, stay tuned.Quote:

I heard of a similar story at another Bunnings. Guy on gate told driver who went out gate and did sharp right and parked to adjust the load! :o

A similar thing happened at Sunbury Mitre 10 a few years ago, although there was no trailer attached - a family sedan with 6m lengths tied to the roof, and the trailing ends just dragged along the ground. He refused to pay a delivery fee. Cops pulled him over, and the delivery truck ended up going out and picking up the timber, then delivering it, for a fee of course! Photo and story made the local paper.
I don't know what's the problem is here...it's about the first box trailer i've seen where the brake lights worked...:U

Saw a similar thing at a timber yard one time. Bloke got it all loaded and tied down.
Bloke at the yard refused to let him out the gate due to the danger factor.
I wonder if the supplier could be held responsible for anything that happened as a result of this stupidity?

Boral plaster wont allow loads on roof racks etc anymore....I can remember back in the old BBC Hardwarehouse days, seeing a camry sedan with lengths of conduit tied to the aerial on the boot and wing mirror, and a toyota hiace with a 6mtr 90x35 bent over the axels and many a person holding things by hand on the roof...:doh:
There used to be a bloke years ago pull into the timber yard and but a 1800 X 900 sheet if 3mm ply. So, you say. He would pay for it then get into his conveyance,A Fiat Bambino, sit the sheet on the roof and drive home with his right hand holding it.
I asked the staff how often he came in, and they said it was a regular purchase. They used to stand in the laneway and watch him disappear. I think that they were hoping he was going to add some entertainment
