Therearewere 5 (five) deliberate spelling mistakes on this forum. That one has taken around 2 years to be pointed out for the second time. The other one too almost 8 years to be found and the other 3 are still yet to be found.
Deliberately done because of a few spelling nazis a long time ago who picked up everyone's spelling. Strangely enough they never picked up the blatantly obvious.
As Groggy said there are still another 3 (three) somewhere.
No prize, other than the satisfaction of knowing (as a rule) most spelling nazis aren't very good at observation.

Isn't there a Typo-Finding Honour Board?
I have a vague recollection that Gumby, maybe?, put a lot of time and effort into making one, and hand carved the forum name of each typo-finder into it.
There was talk of gold leaf etc. etc.
I did do a search, and just out of interest (probably to the pen-makers) if you search for "pen" on this BB, you get no hits (that's zero, none, not any!)
Makes you think that the bosses and axe-weilders on here have something against pen-turning, dunnit?

You are correct, I just tried a search too and got a nil result also. However, if you scroll down in the search page to the 'cloud' of words and click on 'pen' you get quite a few returns.Quote:

A three letter search is a bit of a no-no for most forums not just Woodwork Forums. Why? Because a 3 letter word can throw up hundreds of false results. Below is a very basic example of a search for the word pen
You would get pen, pens, pen turner, etc, etc, etc
However you would also get many, many, more false responses, like:
open opening opened
depend, depending, dependant
pensive, expensive, expend
penetrate, penetration
suspend, suspended, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.........
The cloud search of pen or pens works because that's the word that's been taken from the thread/post and not a general search for 3 letters
Try and keep searches to 4 letters or above. A search using the word pens (Searching Titles Only) brings up 366 results and (Searching Entire Posts) brings up 4272 results
Cloud search of pen brings up 990 and pens brings up 360.
