. . . Still waiting for my 186 . . .
Thanks Graig I am not sure if they ring a bell.
I file then beside my chair till I have read them through, and then the wife picks them up and files them in the office some place. Only when a tidy up is done do things sort of get sorted out.
Any way you were quick off the mark, a reply in 7 minutes. Great.
Regards Peter
Enough! Enough!
I received my THIRD copy of #186 in the mail today. Who wants one, PM me with an address and it's yours, first in first served, two copies to go.
If you miss out there will probably be another along soon enough...
Edit - none left folks.
Can i ask you blokes a question.
Why do you bother subscribing if you are getting so much grief?
I just grab mine when it hits the stand.
Ok you supposedly get it quicker than we do at the newsagent, and for a few dollars cheaper. The price includes web subscription, so is that the main reason?
Im confused :? Why do you bother :?
This sounds like a skit about "what have the Romans ever done for us?" :U :U
The problem only occured (for most of us) with #186, the rest have been fine. I like to get the mag a bit earlier than it hits the newsagents because by then everyone is talking about bits and pieces that are in it. I find that takes a bit of the enjoyment out of it for me.
Besides, when I used to get them from the newsguy they were either all gone or well and truly rumpled up.
I got 3 coppies of #186 too. :D :D must be the irish fixing the problem..... to be sure, to be sure, to be sure.:D :D
cheers
I reckon that you've got to say that it's very much to Taunton's credit.
They've been made aware of the problem and have obviously devoted resources to fixing it. I only ended up with two 186's but I think that the moral is that they are prepared two go at least  the extra 1.6 km for their customers.
Well done Taunton says I. :)
BTW, I subscribe for two reasons, You get the mag pretty much at the same time as the US newstands and not 2 months later. And, it's about half the price of what it will cost you in a newsagent.
FWIW, you don't get access to the web site in your mag subscription. That costs extra (discounted to subscribers though).
Im still waiting, but as Craig says, subscribing is a better deal whichever way you look at it.
If I didn't subscribe I wouldn't read it because the local newsagent doesn't stock it.Quote:

I cannot make myself pay $18 for a bloody mag. Subscribing is less painless. I've jumped ship to Pop WW anyway.:p
Got it now, along with 190.
Yep 190 turned up here today too.
Shipping seems to be definitely back on track. :)
I can see this thread going for a very long time.:p Let’s see who gets #191 first. :D
Still waiting for my 2nd and 3rd copy.:((
Only ever received 1 copy of #186 [January 18/2007] but am still waiting for copy #188 which is MIA. Taunton have been informed - it a appears to be so long ago that I'm sure the magazine was still in black and white when I told them - but I'm still waiting, waiting, waiting - perhaps I'm Irish Soundman but one copy is all I'm asking for.
As for #190 - Hmmmmmmmm
Bob
Thx Groggy
REgards Lou:D :D :D
Me too. Thanks, Groggy!
(Imagine that this is a photo of my hand holding the envelope containing issue #186 of FWW! )
Well there you go, every cloud does have a silver lining.
Hoooooray 190 arrived today :2tsup:
#188 is still MIA:C :~
I see in 190 that our own forumite Derek Cohen has his excellent idea on belt sander sharpening :2tsup: p20
can't really believe that a cabinet for sandpaper storage was regarded as a "best tip" :o:no: p16
