About 2/3 way to my goal thx to the support of you guys.
Doing the bunnings shave for cancer in the 12th of march I hope. Some question as to whether Campbelltown is doing the shave though the Web site says yes.
The hair has got to go. Should Ido the eye brows too?

A hard day Dave
Well done Dave....
Just a few more forum members to sponsor/donate and the goal will be there....
Slightly peeved.
Organised to take part in the worlds greatest shave as a promo thing Bunninga sent out to their trade customers.
Logged onto Bunnings PowerPass, registered and as part of theprocess registered with the offical greatest shave website. Also had to mominaye a store. My brother died in Sydney sonthought Sydney it is. Bunnings web site have the dates as 9th to 13th from memory so it worked out with a forum gtg.
Get a phone call from greatest shave HQ confirmong im good to go and asking if my mominated store has been in touch. She confirms theor web site covers the period inc tomorrow. That was over a week ago.
Friday 4th I ring Campbelltown Bunnings to book a time. Noone there really seems to know anything and the woman who does wont be in till Monday. Ok i leave my name and number. Knowing I'll likely have no phone signal most od the week I explocitly let them know when taking a message ans supply my email. I said "if she cant get through tell her to email me". As part of the discussion I also mentiones I plan to e there Saturdau and coming about 1000 k's
Come today, still no word so I call them. No one seemed to have a clue. I get put through to the trade desk. the woman orgaising it wont be in till Monday. She can call me then.
After stating im planning tonjave it done tomorroq the woman says 'Oh we did stick take. We wont be doing it till Wednesday'
'I just drove 1000 kms to jave it done'
She says, "I'm sorry sir"
Good one !!!

That sucks

Contact Us | Bunnings Warehouse
and well at to the Shave People.....
PS - Send the Bunnings National Customer Service Manager a copy of this thread.....
Ring Ray Hadley 2GB
I have heard the expression, "Keep your hair on." ~ just didn't think it would come from one of the sponsors of Shave for a Cure.
Waiting for another store to ring. Will see what happens

Well no call from Bunnings
The other store had no idea whether it was being doe or not when I spoke to Peta at the trade desk. It is being run by the trade department ad it is trade customers who were ivited to take part.
Yesterday I rang a head office in Perth and the first lady I spoke to had no idea what soever as to whether or not Bunnings were involved. Seems a massive breakdown in communication generally.
So long and short .... its still long

As there is a sharpening GTG at Fletty's today, and given that there will be plenty of sharp blades available, and that DaveTTC will be there, as they say, all ducks will be in a row, if you know what I mean. Maybe we could arrange a ceremonial blade testing on a certain forumite?
I can bring Band Aids just in case of any minor repairs being necessary:D.
Could make a great day even more interesting.
Alan...
That's what I love about you guys. Always thinking of each other and wanting to lend a hand 😉 or in this case a blade or two

Whether you get shaved or not is not important, it is the fact you have put your hair on the line to raise money to which I admire you.
If Bunnings are not coming to the party, I think the offer by Uncle Al is a good one, provided the hat is passed around.
We may just go that route. Stuff bunnings and their incompetency. I had hoped to get more donatations there on the day but it would feel good to be shaved by you guys as you are the ones that have been my support these many months

If someone has some clippers and a few shavers may do the shave at Fletty's

He has indeed. One bald little cowboy now. There are photos which I'm sure will be posted soonish.
's gone, we've put the Cowboy to bed, I've checked the shed and backyard, there's no-one left ...... too tired to post anything more than a single photo that says it all......

Well Dave, Bunnings may have stuffed up but you have been true to your word and commitment to your brothers memory...THANK YOU FOR LETTING US SHARE THAT COMMITMENT....
Its a year today. How quick time flies by.
Just been out with my SIL and one of my brothers close friends to reminisce and tell stories

The year of firsts, birthday, anniversary etc is always the hardest.
The memories do fade a little just as there will be times when a word, song, food or sound will bring it all back into sharp focus. Remember the good times.
How fast three year's goes by.
I'm not on the forum near as much as I'd like. Hopefully I will get back to it in the coming year.
As another anniversary draws close I've taken time to look over this thread. What a family I have here. The love, compassion, support and loyalty you have all shown ... I'm speechless with a lump in my throat and tear in my eye.
My inbox is almost full as I have never deleted the messages from that time.
You are a great lot.
Thanks

I know that when you read posts like this it can be painful. But remember the good times that you had.
Look forward to seeing some of your work again once you manage to get into the workshop
